// How to wax your Snowboard

Okay so Winter is coming up and you this time instead of bringing you board to your local dealer you want to do the waxing yourself. First you should obivously get yourself some wax. Now there are thousand of different sorts of wax out there it would take to long to list them all, just make sure it’s made for snowboards and it has all-weather features. Next you want to have an iron that you can throw away, you’ll also need a some kind of big brush, a plexiglas for the excess wax and an abrasive pad for polishing.

Once you have all these things, go to you cellar, yes you’ll need a dry room where you can leave your snowboard. Remove the binding and put it on two wodden blacks, with the downside facing upwards. You’ll want to use your brush to remove any dirt and clean the board before hand.

After that heat up the iron, once the iron is ready start melting the wax over the snowboard. Make sure that the iron isn’t too hot, you don’t want the wax to be burning. Spread the wax all over the board, once you got a good chunk on the board start distributing the wax with your iron. Make sure that you distribute evenly. Once you waxed every part of your snowboard let the wax cool off.
Once the wax is clean use your plexiglas to start scrubbing of the excess wax. A common mistake here is that people don’t scrape the wax off enough thouroughly. You really want to get all the excess wax off and for that you will have to press pretty hard and go over your snowboard with your plexiglas scraper a few times. After that use youre abrasive pad to polish your board.

There you go, you now have a waxed snowboard ready to use. You’ll want to wax your board regularely, this way you’ll protect it and the board lasts longer. Also make sure to sharpen you edges from time to time to ensure maximum grip.
