// How to to a BS 540

First you should before trying this trick you should be comfortable with doing a Backside 180 and a 360. Once you get these tricks down you can start practicing the Backside 5.

Start out small and try it on some smaller kickers or on the side of the slope. Before trying an actual BS 540 over a kicker you want to do a few straight air, 180s and 360s to get a good feel for the kicker. Once you feel confident enough go for the 540.

Before the jump go over the Bs 540 in your head. Imagine yourself doing the trick from start to finish, how you have to jump, how you have to turn in the air and how you have to land. Doing this will help you land the trick safely later on.

Approach the kicker with the right speed, you will want to be slightly on your toe edge before jumping. Once in the air start turning, doing an indy grab can help out with stabilisation of your jump. After 270 degrees you should be able to see the landing, your doing a 540 so you should hold your grab until you reach 450 degrees, release your grab and get ready for the landing. Open up your body to slow down the rotation and try to land slightly on your toe edge. The hard part of the Bs 540 is the landing, that is why it is important to be able to do a Bs 180.

There you have it you’ve just down a Bs 540.
